Auckland Fringe 2015: Week One Schedule and Daily Picks

Taylor Hall's Beast

Auckland: Things are about to get Fringey [by James Wenley]

MONDAY'S PICK: Girl on a Corner by Victor Rodger. Remember how you couldn't get a ticket to Black Faggot last Auckland Fringe? Don't be that person for this show! Corner tells the story of Shalimar Seiuli, a Samoan fa'afafine picked up by Eddie Murphy on the Santa Monica Boulevard. Rodger has been on a roll recently, making this unmissable.

Auckland Fringe 2015 is hitting our theatres and streets next week and it promises to bring a whole cavalcade of entertainment and provocation. Fringe is one of the best times to check out what’s happening in Auckland theatre. Ticket prices are low and affordable, and you can jump from venue to venue and genre to genre to create a very memorable night.

To assist your planning, I’ve put together an easy-to-read list of what Fringe events are happening in the Festival’s first week. Choose a night, look at what’s on offer, and pick your own path….

  1. FYI – the Wet Hot Beauties are also performing their FREE beach show WIPE OUT at 3pm on Saturday 14th Feb at Mission Bay. We’re performing ever Saturday between 14th Feb – 14th March at a variety of times and beach locations including SPLORE. This year we have a troupe of 50+ ladies hitting the water.
