Help Theatre Scenes’ Matt Baker get to Romania

Matt representing NZ at Romania Critic Seminar [by James Wenley]

What’s Romanian theatre like these days?

Theatre Scenes’ own Matt Baker is going to find out. Matt, the first kiwi member of the International Association of Theatre Critics, has been accepted to join young critics from around the world to take part in critic seminar in Romania in conjunction with the 23rd National Theatre Festival. But he needs help in getting there, and has opened a PledgeMe campaign where supporters can pledge funds towards travel costs. If you enjoy Matt’s theatre contributions, I encourage you to take a look.

Matt writes: “Although accommodation, meals, and theatre tickets are inclusive, flights to Romania are not. This project is to raise $2,000.00 for the cost of a return flight from Auckland to Romania. My attendance at this seminar is part of my goal to push theatre criticism in New Zealand to a recognised art profession by further educating myself via working with critics from all around the world.”
